Vrummm!

Some time ago, I saw a movie… that blow away my mind, and kinda turn into an personal obsession for the past month… that movie is Speed Racer, brilliantly composed by the Wachowski Brothers.

I just thought maybe a review could wipe-away my friends preconceptions about this movie, which is truly a Live Action Anime. I mean, if you like animes, there is no reason you would not like this movie.

I myself wasn’t believing in the movie in the first place, I guess mostly because of the Trailers used to promote it. My first impressions wore that the movie would going to be very good or very bad. Most people I guess took the second for granted and for no apparent reason decided to discredit the movie (before even watching it).

Another motivation on writing this review is also due to the amount of bad/mediocre movies I’ve watched in the past few days. The last, Get Smat, was a truly pain to watch.

Back to Speed Racer:

Visually the movie is gorgeous, a truly work of art, pop art I must say :) Also loved the way editing was done, mixing for instance time past and present while telling Rex Racer Story and Speed’s childhood with Speed’s win at Thunderhead. Stuff like that are very common on Animes!

Chills provoking soundtrack, composed by Michal Giancchino (the guy responsible for “The Incridbles”), get it’s at it’s best on the last race (Reboot track). Buy it!!!

The movie sure is cheesy, but that is it’s purpose! Watching it took me back to my childhood, when I myself used to “act/play” japanese animes with my brother, just like Spritle and Chim-Chim.

Mostly a big boys movie, with great replay value (I mean, I watched 3 times) and outstanding visual effects… if you missed it… please at least get in HD!

Next, a fan video, that show how EPIC this movie is:

Go Speed Racer Go! Vrummm!
